Thank you so much for your great hospitality and showing us the trails. Went North is my favorite vacation anywhere. The accommodations for people & horses, trails, nightly campfires, and privacy are the best! Nice owners too.

Went North is my favorite place on earth! It has been our annual girl’s weekend for the last 10 years. It is the vacation that we all look forward to the most each year. All the amenities make it so relaxing and worry free. We have extended our stay each year so we have days to relax and days for adventure. We go for a nice ride on one of the many trails usually stopping at the river to let the horses play in the water. It is east to relax in the cabin after our rides by watching movies, reading, putting puzzles together, or napping. It is nice to just do what we feel like doing at that moment. It is AWESOME! On our adventure days we make plans for the day at attractions around the area; lunch at the restaurant capital in Dorset, Paul Bunyan in Akeley, the head waters of the Mississippi in Itasca state park, main street in Park Rapids with all the shops, kayaking on the Shell and Crow Wing rivers. It is so nice feeling confident your horses are safe and sound so you can go site see and not worry. We love visiting with Tami and Randy and sitting by the fire at night. The only thing we don’t like about our trip is leaving. It goes by so fast and then it’s over. And then we start looking forward to next year.

We just had an AMAZING girl’s weekend at Went North, including accommodations in both the cabin and horse areas. Tami was great and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay, even the water buckets were filled and ready in the paddocks when we arrived. We had rain all day Sunday but kept busy watching movies and playing games that were provided in the cabin. It is beautiful riding through the woods. We will surely be returning to this great destination. Very Relaxing! Thank you Tami for providing such a great retreat!!!!

Imagine ... a long weekend way from the distractions of your daily routine, quality time spent with your horse riding in pristine wilderness trails, and comfortable accommodations for both human and equine. This is what we experienced when we ventured to Went North.
Tami Wenthold, experienced horsewoman and property owner, offered a warm welcome and answered our questions. Our only regret was that our time passed all too quickly.
Without reservation, we highly recommended making a Went North reservation!

What a great place. We have made Went North our second home and part of our riding tradition for many years. We find ourselves on the trails for the entire day relaxing and enjoying the magic of the forest. Time spent with Tami and Randy is something we look forward to every year.

Dear Horse and Nature Lovers,
If you are looking for Heaven on Earth, "WentNorth", is your destination! Their lovely cabins are nestled next to Huntersville State Forest, making for the beautiful trail riding getaway. The accommodations are cozy, clean and just perfect! The paddocks for the horses are very nice and safe. Every winter I dream about going back to WentNorth.
Thank you, Tami, for providing this beautiful getaway!

Went North is the perfect horse “camping” spot! The trails are fun and one really can ride for quite a few days without seeing nearly all of them. The accommodations at Went North #1 are one of the best I’ve seen – there is plenty of room for a group without falling over each other and the horse areas are big enough for them to have enough room also. My group visits each year and it’s a highlight – we find new towns to scout and new restaurants each time.
And trailer parking is a dream!

The Remuda Ranch girls have enjoyed fall trail rides at WentNorth the past fours years with many more to come. Our favorite part of the long weekend is our daily rides to the river crossing with nightly bonfires. We can not say enough about the wonderful accommodations for both human and equine. Whether having breakfast, dinner or settling in for the night our horses are just outside the window. If weather does not cooperate Park Rapids is a nice half day trip away. Tami and Randy are wonderful hosts and keep the place in top notch condition. They are just a phone call away however we have never had to call them. They check in daily to make sure you are enjoying your stay and to make sure there is nothing you need. Oh yeah don't forget to buy your t-shirts before you leave they too are a great souvenir. Thanks Tami and Randy see you fall of 2014.

My friends and I have truly found a treasure in Went North Bed and Corral. It has turned into an annual destination for our horse getaway. The people accommodations are spacious, clean, and well- appointed. Tami is very gracious and willing to help with anything we may need. What is equally important to us – the horse accommodations are perfect. The horse stalls are conveniently located right outside our door, offer partial covering from the elements and really close to water. Additionally, there are miles and miles of beautiful trails: through forest, along and across water, and through prairie.
